Assassin’s Creed 3 hits PC this week, new trailer

Assassin’s Creed 3 is about to hit PC worldwide, and to prepare the minds of the Master Race for this event, Ubisoft has released a particularly lovely new trailer.

The third numbered entry (but fifth major release) in the Assassin’s Creed franchise arrived on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in October, and accompanies the Wii U at launch. Joystiq reports the action adventure unlocks on the US arm of Steam today, but we in Australia must wait patiently till tomorrow. The PC version will ship with all patches so far, which is quite a substantial update.

Assassin’s Creed 3 apparently sold over 3.5 million units in its first week, topped the UK charts, and received generally favourable reviews, although Dave was a little disappointed in it.

I’m really annoyed Ubisoft isn’t releasing this on Steam in UK for some reason. The same with Far Cry 3 – no UK version on Steam. Would you like to investigate a bit here, dear VG247?

@1, in previous instances there have been a few weeks of retail exclusivity before games have appeared on Steam in the UK. To my knowledge nobody has ever furnished a decent reason why.

@2 If I had to guess, I’d say the brick-and-mortar retailers are paying them off so they get a chance to sell some copies before a far more convenient (if not cheaper, as well) option opens up.

Never realized that before, but it’s strange considering other online retailers already have this game – I have preordered elsewhere. I suppose it’s chains like GAME etc. fighting with Steam.
