Deus Ex: Human Revolution movie signs Sinister director -report

Sinister, The Day the Earth Stood Still and The Exorcism of Emily Rose director Scott Dickerson will head up the upcoming Deus Ex: Human Revolution film.

Deadline reports CBS has signed Derrickson both to direct and write the script, assisted by C. Robert Cargill, who also co-wrote Sinister.

“Deus Ex is a phenomenal cyberpunk game with soul and intelligence. By combining amazing action and tension with big, philosophical ideas, Deus Ex is smart, ballsy, and will make one hell of a movie. Cargill and I can’t wait to bring it to the big screen," Derrickson said.

The two are said to have played the shooter RPG start to finish before agreeing to meet with producers.

Deus Ex has not been dated. The film is being produced by Roy Lee (The Incident, How To Train Your Dragon) and Adrian Askarieh (Hitman, upcoming Kane & Lynch) will produce, with John P. Middleton as executive producer.
