Modern Warfare 4: Infinity Ward shoots down Price claims, doesn’t debunk game
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was outed yesterday by Captain Price voice actor Bill Murray, who suggested voice work had already begun. However, Infinity Ward has now shot down the actor’s involvement and denied that voice work has begun – but hasn’t denied the game’s existence.

Infinity Ward took to Twitter last night to debunk the voice acting rumour, along with the message: “Interesting news today, but it’s not true. We’ve not talked with any voice actors, so all news is speculation.”
Note that the game itself hasn’t been debunked.
VG247 asked Activision for comment on the game’s existence yesterday, but has so far received no reply.
Thanks CVG.

Like the announcement of any new Mario game, isn’t this just a given for November 2013

@3 Maybe. My prediction is that Xbox 720 will launch November next year / Easter 2014 at latest. MW4 has been said to be on current and next-gen formats according to a linkedIn CV.
The pieces are slowly falling into place.

@5 It’s news because they haven’t debunked the game’s existence. Also, no one knows for certain what is happening in this industry. That’s the danger of presumptions, they’re often wrong.

Indeed.
1. Although IW are almost certainly working on a CoD game, we don’t know if it’s MW4. Even more so, with the welcome reception that BO2′s change to a future setting is getting.
2. Even if it is MW4, we don’t (didn’t) know if Cpt. Price is going to feature in it or not.

You should probably change the voice actor’s name to Billy Murray. I don’t think he’s ever been credited as Bill. Saves the confusion, even though most of us know he’s that bloke off EastEnders and not the former Ghostbuster

They probably haven’t talked to any actors, but they will likely have been talking to their agents, so not lies, just a question of focus.

“Also, no one knows for certain what is happening in this industry.”
It’s not speculation for everyone, because many of us work in this industry and have friends in various different games companies.
As a journalist I suspect it’s harder for people to trust you with that kind of information, but if you work in dev/publishing, it’s an unwritten rule that you just don’t announce other people’s stuff.
I’m not a games industry veteran by any means, but I know for a fact that certain unannounced games are in the works, and I won’t be the only one here either.
