Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Online will go into beta in February, Square announced this morning during its Nintendo Direct presentation. Beta vouchers will be included in the Premium Set editions of Wii U systems in Japan. Due to Wii and Wii U players sharing the same server, character data from Wii can be imported over to Wii U. Players will also be able to create items such as furniture, create parties, and customize their characters. Dragon Quest X will launch in Japan next year. Thanks, Gematsu.

Japanese publisher Square Enix said that it’s considering releasing the MMO, currently only available in Japan, Dragon Quest 10, in the west.
Dragon Quest 10 has sold 1 million copies since its release in 2012, according to producer Yosuke Saito.
