Retro City Rampage releasing this month on PS3 & PS Vita, Xbox 360 in November

Retro City Rampage, the nostalgic top-down shooter is heading to PS3 and PS Vita this month, creator Brian Provinciano has confirmed. Good news for pixel junkies.

Head of indie studio VBlank, Provinciano confirmed the October 9th release to Joystiq, and stated that it would hit Sony formats first, and then launch on Xbox Live and WiiWare later this year.

The game riffs on the 8-bit era, with levels based on Metal gear, Ninja Gaiden, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and more. It plays a bit like the old-school GTA games, so if you liked them, then you need this game.
