Batman: Arkham City GOTY Edition release pushed to November in the UK

Batman: Arkham City's Game of the Year Edition's release in the UK came and went with nary a PS3 or Xbox 360 box on retail shelves. Turns out, the game's release was delayed into November in the region.

Speaking on its forums, Rocksteady apologized for any confusion the delay may have caused UK consumers.

"Apologies for the confusion and the delay, we understand it is disappointing," Rocksteady's European community manager Sarah Wellock wrote." Each of the territories determined the best time to release Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition and for the UK, November is best.

"[Rocksteady] weren't part of the internal discussions held by the UK sales/marketing team but have full faith in their decision. A lot of the time we have to consider our relationships with retailers and what works well for them, it's not just about release schedules."

The GOTY edition, which includes all the DLC released for the title, was released in the US during May and was originally scheduled for retail release in the UK on September 7.

The Steam version launched as planned, but the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions will now land at UK retail on November 9.

A reason for the delay was not provided.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
