Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 hits Steam

Friday, 24th August 2012 09:14 GMT By Dave Cook

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 is now available on Steam, together with enhanced performance and visuals.

Obsidian’s stellar RPG will only cost you a measly £6.99, and it comes patched with the fully endorsed Sith Lords Restored Content Mod. The mod irons out bugs and enhances the game’s visuals.

Cheers Eurogamer.

You can buy Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic 2 here.

Okay, that’s a weird trailer. Still, great game. Horrible ending. I hope that the Restoration Mod will fix that. Somewhat.

But when you say “comes with the fully endorsed Sith Lords Restored Content Mod”, what do you mean? Simply that the mod is out there to download, or does it actually come with the mod? And what does “enhanced performance and visuals” mean? I thought this was just a re-release of the original game?

Anyway, I’m psyched for this. I only played the original Xbox version game on Xbox 360, and that was not a very smooth experience. Loved it anyway, so it’ll be fun to see how it plays now, on PC, with some mods and stuff.

Yeah, it doesn’t come WITH the mod. It’s just the standard, double-patched PC release.

The mod is freely available, endorsed by its creators and works on the Steam version, though.

@1 So true. It had one of the most disappointing endings I’ve ever seen in a video game specially considering how great some of its characters and plots were proir to the last few ours.

@3 thats true because Obsidian released the game to early.

Play it again with the mod its a whole new game.

I think the game does come with atleast some of the mods. Have a look at the system requirements compared to the retail, they are fairly significant.

What #4 said. Obsidian were forced to rush this out. The mod really helps.

It’s like Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, really. Both of which are absolute cult classics when modded. And both of which are pretty much in an unplayable state (Bloodlines can’t be completed) when not modded. That’s been true for some of the most ambitious titles throughout PC history.

Just how extensive is the mod for Bloodlines out of interest, completion ability aside?
