Resident Evil 6 goes gold, Resident Evil.net gets new details

Wednesday, 22nd August 2012 12:47 GMT By Dave Cook

Resident Evil 6 development has ended, as Capcom gears up for the game’s October 2 release. Companion service Resident Evil.net has also been given a new trailer to mark the occasion, providing more details on what users can expect.

Announced last week at gamescom, Resident Evil.net will launch alongside Resident Evil 6 and will collect stats on your performance – such as zombies killed, number of deaths, favourite gun, healing items consumed and more.

Think Call of Duty: Elite, but for Resident Evil 6, basically. There are also championships, online matches, player comparisons to enjoy. It’s a big service, but it’s maybe a little too purple.

IGN has the Resident Evil.net video, and you can check it out here.

Here are some screenshots of Resident Evil.net’s interface:

With regards to going gold…….does anyone know if all 3 demo segments will be in the game? I liked Leon’s the best……seemed to be the purist RE experience of the 3.

They all had different pause menu interfaces which leads me to believe they were just trial segments for testing/survey purposes. Let’s hope so cause the other 2 segments blew.
