Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge on Wii U to contain improvements over PS3, 360 version

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge on Wii U may just be the “hardcore fan package” you’re looking for, according to developer Team Ninja.

Speaking with Eurogamer at gamescom, the game will feature improvements over the PS3 and Xbox 360 releases – versions which Yosuke Hayashi said could have been better at serving the fanbase.

“We left out some of the things the series was well-known for,” he said. “We did leave some of our fans out. We had this opportunity to put those hardcore aspects back in [with Wii U]. It’s kind of the hardcore fan package of Ninja Gaiden 3.”

Hayashi said the version released on PS3 and Xbox 360 had some “good elements and bad elements,” and the team plans to address the later on Wii U thanks to feedback from the original releases.

“Obviously there are new things in there too, but we shouldn’t try and throw out what Team Ninja is good at,” he said. “[Originally with Wii U] We had to drop polygons, characters, stages, play around with the frame-rate to get it out there. It was a really rough version.

“But the Wii U devkit has since improved and we’re now working on updated hardware. The E3 version was not good.”

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge will release sometime after Wii U lands at retail.

Well they could patch up the 360 and PS3 version where the fanbase actually is.
