Former Irrational Games art director joins Naughty Dog

Former Irrational Games man and Bioshock Infinite’s art director Nate Wells has revealed that he’s joined Santa Monica-based studio Naughty Dog.

Wells disclosed this news via a tweet, stating that he’s joined work on The Last of Us over at the studio.

“In this fall, and this is hard, In this fall, I’m taking my talents to South Beach. Wait. I mean Naughty Dog and The Last of Us. Can’t wait.”

Wells left Irrational Games along with the studio’s director of product development last week. He didn’t go into details about what new position he’ll be taking up at Naughty Dog.

Irrational Games creative director Ken Levine had earlier revealed that Scott Sinclair has replaced Wells as art director for Bioshock Infinite. Epic Games veteran Rod Fergusson has jumped ship for Irrational Games

Thanks, G4.

IGN got a comment from Sony saying he’ll serve as Lead Artist of TLoU.

Which kinda makes you wonder whether Naughty Dog have lost their previous Lead Artist, whether they’re adding another one or they never had one at all.

Wish him well, and hope he makes The Last of Us even better than it already looks.

Who wouldn’t love living and working at Santa Monica.
