Watch Danger Close producer Greg Goodrich talk about the FIFA mentality of Medal of Honor: Warfighter’s multiplayer and more following a big E3 showing for the shooter.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter got a massive showing at E3 a few weeks back, pinning it as one of EA’s big centrepieces during the show with a live single-player demo and the unveil of multiplayer suite Global Warfighters during the publisher’s press conference.

Clay caught up with MoH: Warfighter producer Greg Goodrich during the show to talk about Global Warfighters and how it relates to FIFA, the difference between it and Battlefield and if it would ever consider a return to World War II (spoiler: doesn’t sound like it).

Medal of Honor: Warfighter launches on PS3, 360 and PC on October 23.

Sure, it’ll be just another ultra-modern FPS but I’m genuinely quite interested in this now, especially after MW3 was so underwhelming and with BLOPS2 looking pretty silly.

That said, I’d love them to take this ‘global warfighter’ business back in time…to the First World War. They’d need a decent historian on board to prevent the false interpretation of the war as nothing but men being slaughtered by machine guns. But it’d be a great period, with the birth of modern special forces, with every nation developing Trench Raiders (or Stormtroopers or Arditi) with lots of Gucci kit and unique tactics. Just watch ‘Capitaine Conan’.

You could even push it out further, into ski-troops like the Chasseurs Alpins/Alpini and the fore-runner of the SAS & LRDG, the Armoured Car units in Mesopotamia.

Hopefully SideStrafe can help boost some backers for Ground Branch Kickstarter instead.
Getting tired of paying $60/game, then another $10 per DLCs, and they don’t even listen to the gamers
