Tony Hawk dev set to work on Call of Duty

Neversoft, the developer renowned for its work on the Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero franchises, is working on Activision’s Call of Duty, but in exactly what capacity is currently unclear.

Neversoft has updated the splash page on its company website to include reference to work it is doing “in support of Activision’s Call of Duty franchise.”

The Activision-owned developer is best known for its numerous releases in the Tony Hawk series and, later, the Guitar Hero and Band Hero franchises, but has been hiring for an unnamed FPS project for some time now.

A handful of jobs are still being advertised on the Neversoft website, including the post of “Single-Player Design Scripter: FPS” and “Lead Multiplayer Level Designer: FPS”, though there’s no reference to whether they are for a new IP or part of the work the developer is doing on the Call of Duty brand.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 developer, Treyarch, recently stated “We don’t have announcements today but we will be supporting Wii U,” when asked whether this year’s Call of Duty would make an appearance on Nintendo’s new console; that Neversoft might be assisting with its development is supposition at this point.
