Ubisoft: Rainbow Six: Patriots still in development

Ubisoft has confirmed Rainbow Six: Patriots is still in the works at Ubisoft Montreal.

It follows a massive reshuffle earlier in the year that also seen ex-creative director David Sears pulled from the project onto something else.

Ubisoft marketing VP Tony Key has confirmed the game's ongoing development to IGN, confirming it didn't feel like the right time to show new stuff from the shooter.

"Let's just say that Rainbow 6 is still in active development but what we decided was that the best thing for the brand was to not bring it to the show right now," he said.

"We have a lot of other games that we want to focus people on and there will be more information on Rainbow coming."

When asked if Patriots had shuffled to next-gen, Key added: "This is the only generation [PS3/360] that I know about, so I would assume yes."

The game's set to launch next year.
