Transformers: Fall of Cybertron shots include Grimlock in glorious HD

Breaking its trend so far today, Activison has sent some quite modestly-sized screenshots for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. If you consider 1280×720 Grimlock shots “modest”.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron releases on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at the end of August, and is basically a love letter to the entire franchise from developer high Moon Studios.

I still hope that they make this skinnable so that a few talented skinning artists can take away some of the more Bayformers-ish elements. Even making it closer to the anime versions would be fine. Or hell, even a touch towards Prime. There’s just a little bit too much Bayformers in these.

That said, I definitely am happy to see Grimlock. And if I get to run around as Grimlock (please say that I do), then that’s day fucking made right there.

Transformers is still a very unusual IP, unlike most of the tripe out there, and I absolutely loved the shit out of War for Cybertron even though I had the wishes of the first paragraph for that game, too. I even loved the heck out of it on the PC as a bad port.

Megatron was absolutely perfect.

If there’s one thing I want them to keep, it’s their writers. I think it was in part the writing that made War for Cybertron so exceptional. The bickering between the Decepticons was a beautiful thing.
