Metal Gear Rising confirmed for early 2013 launch, new trailer

Metal Gear Rising has been confirmed for an early 2013 release at the end of its pre-E3 gameplay trailer.

The video showed the first new glimpse of gameplay since its VGAs unveil in December last year, with mentions of life post-Patriots and how cyborg technology has ramped up since the end of MGS4.

An extended version of the trailer ran after GTTV during the Konami pre-E3 presser. The extended version is above.

The game is a collaboration between Kojima Productions and Platinum Games. It’s coming to PS3 and Xbox 360.

Personal opinion.

- Great music
- Terrible acting
- Unecessary blood splatter
- Stellar gameplay

Man, what a great song, I want it now… but the game, okay, looks like a more creative spin-off than Ac!d and it’s Japanese so it can’t be that Silent Hill-ish bad, right…? RIGHT?

MGS and terrible acting go hand in hand, yet still one of the most beloved game series in history. Platinum Games are in my opinion one of the most underrated game devs ever… there so unbelievibly talented its crazy!

Cannot wait for this!

Slicing choppers? SOLD!

Couldn’t agree more with the Platinum part. As for MGS acting, I agree that most of voice actors go way WAAAAY over the top but then I just remember David Hayter’s Snake voice and stop complaining. He’s awesome and so is Platinum.

too sick for my own good!

and it does play very much like NG3 at times.

Looking to play a hack & slash? Here it is.
Looking to play another incredible MGS game with an amazing plot? Look elsewhere.

Oh boy, who ever choose the music, needs a hard slap in the face. Could you have chosen something less fitting? I doubt that.

The voiceacting is pretty terrible.

That is all the criticism i got.

I’m glad i stood back and gave this game a chance, even after the horrible first trailer and even worse; the live-action trailer.

While it’s still too colorful and i doubt they are going to change the horrible music and voiceacting before the release, it does look like it’s going to feature some solid gameplay, this actually looks closer the gameplay Konami wanted to achieve.

@14 It’s Depeche Mode. That’s all the justification it needs.

I like the look of it, still a bit tentative though.
