Diablo III: Blizzard looking into game-breaking Error 3006
Blizzard has confirmed it’s looking into a fix for Error 3006 for Diablo III after players who encounter the bug get kicked out of the game and are unable to log back in.

Reports from players on EG and Battle.net say the bug happens when you swap gear with a templar follower.
Some users have been locked out of Battle.net completely, apparently. The bug could be tied specifically into the Demon Hunter class. according to players.
Whilst Blizzard is looking into the matter, a temporary workaround for now is simple: don’t swap anything the templar follower. So don’t do that.
Diablo III is out now. Watch last night’s launch festivities in London here.

The item swapping works perfectly for the Barb. Also on Kotaku it is said that this occurs when you find the Templar, before being able to recruit him as follower for killing Jondar.

Game breaking bug? Don’t ALL big game releases need one of them to be taken seriously nowadays?

It’s definitely the best argument against always-on DRM that you can find. And maybe DRM in general.
There’s always going to be “that bug”, and however trivial it is, it’s gonna fuck with peoples ability to play the game. For all the systems you apply, and all the complexity you add to them, more bugs are gonna slip in.
It just makes you look bad. Personally I don’t think it’s a very good bet. There’s no way you’re ever going to make a system that maintains everybody’s game in realtime, to perfection.
It’s gonna break, and you’re gonna look like an asshole. Blizzard are probably the smartest guys in the room when it comes to servers and networking, but they’re still not perfect. Contingencies are very much needed.

Yep, DRM is a thorny issue. I mean I can see the point of the money men… It obviously causes them physical pain to lose all that potential profit, but implementing a fix that really only inconveniences the paying customer base, does seem a little… Obtuse…
Maybe they should just release these games for free and make their profit back on dlc?

@10, do you care about the reviews? The game is pretty darn good.
BTW, I didn’t get the error and I traded with the templar.

Error 37 is the worst right now. Currently this time people are logging to the server.
Damn, DRM is shit.
