Hopefully this is just because the game is in pre-alpha state right now, but i really hope they fix the combat so when you’re fighting, lets say 5 enemies, 4 of them are just standing around and waiting for you to finish attacking their ally. Please fix that! xD

Fantastic tech? LOLWUT? It’s the same engine with belts and whistles and they are calling this ANVIL Next?
Assassins Creed 3 shows that you can’t push console hardware further and despite fantastic cinematic trailer, Gameplay is the SAME as before.
It’s the same. Every Assassins Creed had new moves that most of folks never used.
It’s the same game as Revelations but with new setting.
@3, they won’t fix that.

That really looks great.
I wish I had the time to get back into the series. Played AC1 halfway through and never touched another AC game. Shame on me!

Slick.
I really hope they do this character justice. The Setting has a tonne of potential. Its great to see the exploration moving away from clusters of buildings too.

Wow THis looks fantastic even being in pre-alpha state. I am actually quite interested in this game even though I had disliked the last games but the setting and hopefully character will make up for the last few games.

I don’t like this trailer, the tone seems to be everywhere and there is no red-line to follow. Don’t like the cut at all. The music’s too loud also. Not good from a narrative standpoint. But at least there is enough gameplay to show.

Hummm sub average graphics and bland environmental design. Is that because if the setting or did the team just get lazy ?

@10: It’s ubisoft, when it comes to art-direction, they aren’t known for being lazy.

Looks fucking awesome!!
Deffo going to pick this up, Haven’t played since brotherhood and that left me very dissapointed.
To anyone bitching about the graphic, perhaps u missed the big words at the start that said it was pre-alpha

I’m kinda burned out on Assassin’s Creed. I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve played so far (all of them to completion, a few chapters into Revelations) and think they hang together really well. But there’s not been enough shown of III that makes me want to go back in again to this kind of playground. The relentless backstory pricktease is getting kind of tiresome too.
No doubt this will be a great game and I congratulate Ubi on defying everyone’s expectations with the setting, but I can’t get excited about this yet.
Watched that vid with the sound off. Not actually a lot to get excited about from it. Only a a super-brief snippet of new mechanics over the familiar AC stuff in just a different skin.
And whilst it’s not quantum leap, graphically, over its predecessors – it’s predecessors looked flipping amazing. Moved wonderfully too. And one of the very few games where the environment is so emblematic of the game rather than just being some background. They set the bar very very high (especially the jump from AC1 to AC2) with those games. Hard to think how they could make such a huge improvement over the work already done. Maybe I just lack vision. :^\

Looks sweet! I never got Revelations as I got bored of AC, but this might refresh the series for me.

Looks really good and that parkour… Gah, I’m so glad I preordered!
@4 Have you noticed that small statement at the very beginning that says “The following is pre-alpha game footage”? Or you’ve just jumped to show your endless frustration about graphics(the only thing you care about in gaming)? This footage doesn’t even have anti-aliasing, do you actually think they’ll deliver the game in this form? You’re just spitting bullshit again.

I’m not a big fan of this series but I must admit that I really liked what I saw.

That’s all good …but I guess we’ll have to wait for some “real” gameplay footage till E3…you know..where some is actually PLAYING this game.

Oh noooo, let’s go to France
If that didn’t hit you, you’re not human.
It’s it kind of a shame that the guy will be hunting templars instead of relating to the world he’s actually in. And the voice actor is pretty awful.

@20 Yeah, I didn’t want to admit it in the beginning, but his voice is… bad. Really bad. Guess I was too spoiled by Roger Craig Smith.

The graphics aren’t that good and the movements looks like they could use a bit of polish. The trailer itself is too chaotic for me to properly follow along.
What is impressive is the large environments, but will it hold a candle to Skyrim’s vast environment? At this point it’s too hard to tell.
Personally, I think a game that truly looks next gen even though it’s on current gen consoles is Battlefield 3. Nothing since has come close.

Is it me, or does Connor sound a lot like Altair from the 1st Assassin’s Creed? Not insinuating it’s a problem, (because in my opinion, the 1st is tied for the best in my mind with Revelations) more a general observance if anything. The gameplay looks great, even though it does look like it could use some pollishing, though I guess that’s what the next 5 1/2 months will be for then. I look forward to picking this up come Halloween.

I hate to moan or complain over unfinished game but there is almost no ambient lighting that I can see its a little jarring I find.

I like the franchise, not a huge fan though. I have to say that I’m impressed with the video and looking forward to this one!. I wish more games would use this time period.

@26 You know he’s half native right, right? Just curious. It seems to me that conflict is likely to exist against both sides, colonists and redcoats alike.
I highly doubt this story is going to have such a clear cut story. This franchise rarely does.

its needs the graphics from red dead redemption. Even uncharted 1 looks better than this..

Apparently people don’t understand what Pre-alpha means. This would be their proof of concept and just like the disclaimer says doesn’t actually show how the game will look at launch. If you are going to critique about something at least learn about it, yeesh.
