Non-Life: No E3 announcements from Valve

Valve has confirmed it has no plans to make product announcements at E3, effectively killing off speculation that Half-Life 3 will finally make its bow.

“We have no product announcements planned for this year’s show,” Valve comms boss Doug Lombardi told Joystiq.

It backs up a report from fansite ValveTime, referring to an email exchange between a fan and boss Gabe Newell. Already-announced stuff, like Steam Big Picture, DOTA 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, would be the focus, according to Newell.

“We are not announcing anything at E3. Really,” he said. “We are not announcing Half-Life 3 or Portal 3 or Left 4 Dead 3. We are going to be showing stuff everyone already knows about (CS:Go, Dota 2, 10′ UI)”.

The great wait to fill that Freeman-shaped space in our hearts goes on. E3 happens from June 5-7.

They have enough announcements. DOTA 2 and CS at one year from Valve is damn impressive.

There is no doubt whatsoever that HL3 (or Ep3) has gone through some MAJOR development troubles. Can’t wait until the ‘story of what happened’ finally comes out.

“Good riddance, fatty.”

Hi! Are you a wannabe cyber-bully? Because that’s what calling people names on the internet is. Except Gabe will never read your comment, and if he did, he wouldn’t care – that’s because he’s one of the most successful people in the games industry, an industry that you probably love because you read this site, and he makes games that you probably care about because you read this story.

So really, weighing that all up, that would probably make you feel a little insignificant if you had the capability of understanding words that long – but you probably don’t, because all you managed to comment on this story was..

“Good riddance, fatty.”

Hi, #9 schnide. No, I’m not a cyber-bully, I just really dislike Half-Life, Valve and Newell. So I decided to post this silly little insignificant attempt at humor just for the lulz. I don’t really mind if ‘Gabe’ (I take it he’s a buddy of yours?) reads it.

Are you fat? If so I apologize. But then you really shouldnt be so pissed at internet posts from people you don’t know. Unless of course they post a lot, and make up a lot of crap. It not, then my advice to you is to simply go and fak yourself.

Thanks.

@11 Not ‘Da Man’.

Congratulations! You’re still utterly irrelevant.

Took you a week, eh relevant one?

You’re still utterly nonsensical.

So anyway, like I was saying: good riddance, fatty.
