Non-Life: No E3 announcements from Valve

Valve has confirmed it has no plans to make product announcements at E3, effectively killing off speculation that Half-Life 3 will finally make its bow.

"We have no product announcements planned for this year's show," Valve comms boss Doug Lombardi told Joystiq.

It backs up a report from fansite ValveTime, referring to an email exchange between a fan and boss Gabe Newell. Already-announced stuff, like Steam Big Picture, DOTA 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, would be the focus, according to Newell.

"We are not announcing anything at E3. Really," he said. "We are not announcing Half-Life 3 or Portal 3 or Left 4 Dead 3. We are going to be showing stuff everyone already knows about (CS:Go, Dota 2, 10' UI)".

The great wait to fill that Freeman-shaped space in our hearts goes on. E3 happens from June 5-7.
