Remedy boss describes Max Payne 3 as "f**king brilliant"

The original developer of the Max Payne series is suitably impressed with Rockstar's sequel.

Remedy CEO Matias Myllyrinne told GamesIndustry that Max Payne 3 is pretty good.

"It's f**king brilliant," he said. "It's already brilliant so I've enjoyed it."

Myllyrinne stressed that Rockstar Vancouver is "doing the heavy lifting" with the game's development, but reaffirmed Remedy's ongoing involvement with the project.

"They wanted our input on a couple of occasions and we've had loads of our people, our core group, who worked on the first two games, give input and it's awesome," he said.

"Those guys, they just don't put out bad games. And so, in that respect, it's very - it's almost like the best position to be in. It's like somebody's making a great game and you just get to give them input."

Cagily avoiding giving any spoilers, the executive praised Rockstar's "attention to detail" and "passion and dedication".

Max Paune 3 is due on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in May. "It'll be worth the wait," Myllyrinne said.

Remedy developed both Max Payne 1 and 2, although Rockstar teams created ports of both titles, as well as handling publishing for most versions.
