Avalanche to announce new game at E3, isn't Just Cause 3 or Renegade Ops 2

Avalanche boss Christofer Sundberg has confirmed the developer will show one of its new projects for the first time this year at E3.

Sundberg, however, confirmed to IGN the project in question wasn't Just Cause 3 or Renegade Ops 2 - both IPs are owned by Square Enix and Sega respectively.

Rather, it'll be a licensed title that isn't from a movie.

"We aren't particularly interested in movie-based games," he said. "I think the whole industry destroyed that. So much money's been pumped into those crappy games, it's amazing. It's really scary when you look at how bad they are."

Sundberg wouldn't say if the title unveil, one of two games coming from the studio next year, had anything to do with the long-rumoured title related to the new Max Max film that former God of War director Cory Barlog, now at Crystal Dynamics, was involved with.

But he did confirm the new game would run on a modified version of the Avalanche Engine that powered Just Cause 2.
