Max Payne 3 video focuses on targeting mechanics, movement and animation
Rockstar has debuted a new video series for Max Payne 3, which focuses on the game’s design and the technology implemented in the development. The first video, posted below, offers a look at the game’s targeting mechanics, enemy intelligence, movement, and animation, along with other “technical design innovations.” Max Payne 3 is out in March for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

00:18-00:22 is all I needed to see….staying true to the originals. Rockstar’s got this
(I wish the older Max didn’t look like a fat Bruce Willis, but….)
IT’S MAX FUCKING PAYNE BITCHES!!!!!

Still looks like a boring, contrived gimmick.

I’ll buy almost any game with an FN FAL in it.
That’s probably the IMBEL M964 I’m guessing.

This looks rather good but I don’t anything new in it. The animation and other advantages of their technology are same as Red Dead Redemption’s while the core gameplay hasn’t changed one bit. I know you can’t change too many things in a sequel but this looks like the EXACT same MP1 and MP2 gameplay with upgraded graphics.

@ 6
It clearly has improved animations compared to RDR. It already looks incredible in RDR but it’s clear that its even better in Max Payne 3. Euphoria…it really doesn’t get any better than that. I hope GTA V uses this combat system as well.

@6 Agreed. But remember that if Rockstar did decide to change the gameplay, [dedicated] fans of the game would have gotten pretty “emotional”, and Rockstar wouldn’t have wanted that to happen.
My opinion: keeping the core gameplay the same is a smart move on Rockstar’s part. Their decision could prove to make the game a bit more repetitive, but between the enhanced graphics, classic bullet-time and immersive story/gameplay, players won’t notice a darn thing.
Last but not least, many gamers nowadays know and love Rockstar, but haven’t played Max Payne before, so they wouldn’t even notice that the gameplay hasn’t changed much from the first two installations in the series.

“this looks like the EXACT same MP1 and MP2 gameplay with upgraded graphics.”
Yes, yes it does.
That’s the good news. People were worried this wouldn’t be Max Payne. Looks like a fantastic Max Payne sequel and why shouldn’t it, that’s what it is.
I was unsure with before this video. This video has now put it on my 2012 must buy list. Be nice to see them include 1 and 2 in HD limited edition or something.

PC Version trailer (true to it’s Max Payne roots). You can see it with high res textures/high res models/effects
and other stuff. Also, it’s great to see good old Max with the same old gameplay. Someone that finds it boring can GTFO. Because Max Payne is a thriller and thats the magic of it combining with noir.
Absolutely fantastic in my opinion. Shooting mechanics are much-MUCH better than in Uncharted 3. It’s probably going to be the best third person shooter in this generation. Also, it’s cool to see PC support. Because Uncharted 3 effects and other stuff despite it’s amazing script events looks very dated.
PC version for me. Hell yeah. I just hope that Rockstar will deliver and i really hope so that story will be like in the first game.
Second game while was good, it’s story lacked some magic moments.

For some people its just never good enough. One group is afraid Rockstar is changing too much, hating the bald Max Payne and what not. Then a new video comes out, it looks alot like Max Payne as we know it..and again…people complain? wow!

@11, i still feel that there is no noir, but i hope that i’m wrong and there will be everything that made Max Payne amazing.
In my opinion previous trailers were generic. But this one i liked because of shooting mechanics.

It’s looking good. The first screenshots had me upset that Max had changed so much, but this video renews my hope it’s faithful to Remedy’s games.

I thought this looked super, and answered concerns I had about the direction Max Payne was heading from previous footage.
I especially liked when Max rolled between the paths, under a bullet-time slowed hale, of machine gun fire!
But, I also thought the information about the varied ranks of AI enemies that suggests their reactions sounded really good. This could be great.

@10: I like how, without any proof, you assume that this is the PC version, talk about high-res textures, models and effects (Don’t see any, graphics are acceptable at best), while also talking about PC support.
And suddenly Uncharted 3 looks outdated? Man you just love to change your opinions on the fly, don’t you? And the shooting looks better than in Uncharted 3? No wonder, considering the shooting mechanics in every Uncharted game have been bad compared to other third person games.
A week ago you cried your fucking eyes out how this is going to be shitty game and how Rockstar never managed to deliver a good PC Game.
Pathetic.
