Japanese online retailers selling out Vita preorder stock

Japanese retailers, specifically Amazon Japan and Yodobashi, appear to be fresh out of Vita preorder stock according to online listings.

RPG Site noticed that the two retailers were both listing on their Vita pages that the items are unavailable or out of stock.

Apparently, users who attempt to order either the 3G or WiFi enabled versions of Vita are met with a message saying that stock is no longer available.

Other retailers are also selling out as well including Sofmap, Bic Camera and Joshin. This could be bad news for American gamers who were hoping to import a Japanese PS Vita at launch (especially since they’ll have no chance to go down to the store on launch day,) although it is certainly good news for Sony who is facing large amounts of skepticism about Vita’s chances of surviving in a gaming market now flooded with very capable smartphones.

Vita will be amazing! And has an amazing line up of games to it’s name. All that vita needs now is a new GTA to be announced for it and new Monster Hunter to be announced for it and it will sell, sell, sell, sell!!!

I really hope Vita doesn’t disappoint. I was really looking forward to PSP but when finally bought it…

I still don’t regret my PSP purchase and I enjoyed the hell out of it. Valkyria chronicles 2, MGS:PW are amazing games in my opinion.

Vita looks even better, but launch line-up is still a bit meh except for few ports (but i don’t buy the system only for ports) and of course Uncharted:Golden Abyss that is a real deal for the system.

My rule for every purchase: 5 new games for the system that I want and I buy it hands down.

@4: I totally know what you mean. But i think 5 games is a bit high as threshold before buying a system. I’d say if you really want to have the games, three or four games might be enough. Or sometimes, even one game can be enough, if the rest of the lineup is at least promising.

For example I bought my PS2 for Suikoden 3 alone. I was a bit disappointed by Suikoden 3, compared to Suikoden 2. But after that I bought some other games and found so many great games that I just loved my PS2 for.
I bought my PS3 just for MGS4, this time I wasn’t disappointed at all, because MGS4 is still my favourite game this gen, but even if I was disappointed, I would now love my ps3 just for Uncharted and those many other games.
Bought PSP for Peacewalker,
DS for DQIX and Okami-den,
Xbox360 for the sake of collecting consoles and for Gears
and if my girlfriend had no Wii, I would buy one for Xenoblade and Zelda TP.

I buy most consoles for just one or two games, but other good games always follow.

@Topic: Good news! I hope that the console will be a success in the west this time, too.
