Scotland Yard arrests LulzSec frontman on Shetland Isles

According to a Scotland Yard statement, a hacker associated with LulzSec has been arrested on the Shetland Islands off the coast of Scotland.

A 19-year-old known as ‘Topiary’ was arrested in the swoop.

He was arrested under the Section 3 of the Computer Misuse Act and Section 1 of the Criminal Law Act 1977 at a residential address in the Shetland Islands and is currently being transported to a police station in central London.

A search is underway at the address. The LulzSec Twitter account hasn’t been updated since yesterday.

A residential address in Lincolnshire is also being searched. A 17-year-old man is being interviewed under caution at a Lincolnshire police station in connection with the inquiry. He has not been arrested.

LulzSec was responsible for a string of DDOS attacks aimed at games companies and other firms earlier this.

A previous arrest had been linked to the group, but was later confirmed as unrelated.

Of course, this was made possible by PROPER hacking groups making information about LulzSec available. Just FYI to the more ludditely hacker haters, here. :P
