Someone on YouTube’s put up about a minute-and-a-half of gameplay footage of Darksiders II, the first time actual gameplay has been shown of the game. It shows new main character Death with multiple new moves and weapons. It looks pretty friggin’ sweet, as you’ll see below the break.

Darksiders II launches in 2012 for PS3, 360, Wii U and PC. Read Stace’s recent impressions here.

Loving, loving how fast the combat is, this time around. War in the first time was a tad slow for my taste but Death seems much more quick and agile!

I actually haven’t played a good combo slasher in a while. Bring it on!

first game had fast combat too, just: Click, click click click click one button.

No improvements on whatsoever, just a different character.

@2, “I actually haven’t played a good combo slasher in a while. Bring it on!”

have you played the first game? your character did the same stylish moves, just with one button so i’m not sure that you can expect some intense combo slasher =\

@3, a lot of games use 1 button, it’s about the timing, charging and use of the direction and jump. Also you have a variety of weapons at your disposal to work into the combos. It’s your choice to make use of what you have or just bash away on your primary attack button. Don’t write the game off because you chose not to learn the variety.

Anyway, game looks nice. Felt the first one was a little bit rough around the edges, but this one looks way better. The lighting especially.

#4 That’s wright feed the troll…jeez…some guys will never learn I guess….anyway, the game looks great and the elements they ‘re adding to it (such as loot and skill trees)can only make this franchise grow in quality.
