UK charts: Zumba makes five weeks up top

Zumba Fitness has made it five straight weeks at the top of the UK charts this morning, its been announced this morning.

The biggest new entry in the top ten is the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, released to tie-in with the launch of the movie last week, at seven.

Other than that, it’s all movers. EA Sports Active 2 and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood both reappear in the top ten again at eight and ten respectively.

    Blimey, game sales at the minute must be REALLY shit if even newly-released movie tie-ins can’t beat a months old game to the top.

    @2 Dude, shitty movie tie ins sell A LOT better than you think…because 1) probably close to 90% of parents know jack shit about quality games and 2) they buy their kids whatever the hell they want, and what kids usually want is a shitty licensed movie tie in game that company’s know they don’t have to put any effort into since the name sells itself…so yeah, I believe Transformers has been top 5 (maybe top 2 or 3) since it released…

    And summer is the dry spell of the year for game releases and sales, but that’s just common knowledge…so its not some revelation that the top 10 list is not interesting whatsoever…

    I’m still surprised to see Brink in the top 10, think it’s been top 10 pretty much every week since it’s release…not bad for a mediocre shooter…but I’m happy for Splash Damage, hopefully they use that success to make Brink 2 a much more well put together and thought out game…i guess shooters always sell though, everyone knows that…
