Batman: Arkham City Collector’s Edition pops up

Let’s see if Batman: Arkham City can top its precursors special edition efforts by not including a plastic batarang.

Although we haven’t received the usual “look at our pretty things” email from Warner Bros., Joystiq note that both Gamestop and BestBuy have a special edition listed at $99.

That’s a significant whack of moolah – the Platinum Edition of Saints Row: The Third is at the same price point.

BestBuy lists the contents as a premium statue from craftsmen at Kotobukiya, an art book, some Gotham Knight “animated material” and frist dibs on DLC.

A quick search didn’t turn up similar offers in the usual UK and Australian retailers – yet.

Batman: Arkham City is due in mid-October on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
