Civilization World beta open to all
If you absolutely must get some procrastination done today, know that Civilization World is waiting for you on Facebook.
ShackNews broke the news of the Sid Meier-designed social game going into open beta. Possibly this is some sort of conspiracy against any of us ever working again.
Although still not ready for full launch – you can see quite a few rough edges – the game is accepting all testers.
Civilization World features many aspects of the famous strategy series, as well as plenty of additional gameplay. The social side of things sees groups of players competing with others across epochs; it’s all explained in this trailer.
Hit up the game’s Facebook page, or just dive right in, to begin your descent into zero productivity.

It does bear a passing resemblance. AoE2 wanted to be realistic, though. Doesn’t look like they’re going for that.

It’s a shame that people don’t do more with these sorts of games, but I guess that would defeat the purpose of appealing to everyone.
