Star Fox 64 3D explodes out of E3

Miyamoto has said that Star Fox 64 3D has to perform well to secure the franchise’s future. Check out this E3 2011 trailer and screens and judge for yourself whether our hero’s future is on the rocks.

Star Fox 64 3D can be played using traditional N64-like controls, or with gyro controls. Action takes place on the top screen, while the lower plattern is reserved for characters and dialogue.

Peppy, Slippy and Falco are confirmed to return, and must be protected though the game. You can also hang out with your real friends via four-player multiplayer, over WiFi, even if you only have one copy of the game. Nice, although the live feed of your face sent to other players is a bit creepy.

Star Fox 64 3D brings back fond memories on 3DS come September.
