Star Fox 64 3DS landing July 14

Wednesday, 13th April 2011 10:43 GMT By Stace Harman

After Ocarina of Time 3DS was given a firm release date yesterday, it’s now been announced that the 3D remake of Star Fox 64 will follow barely a month later. A veritable summer of fun, to be sure.

The official Star Fox 64 3DS website is carrying a short teaser clip of Fox, Slippy and co. dashing down a very long empty corridor before jumping into their ships and blasting off.

More excitingly, the site is emblazoned with the launch date: 2011.7.14 – though there’s currently no mention of which region this applies to.

Destructoid pondered the significance of the game’s absence from Nintendo’s second-quarter US lineup, speculating that this could point to a Japan-only launch on July 14, or that it could just be because Nintendo is planning a bigger reveal at a later date.

Additional screens have appeared on Andriasang.

    Dear Nintendo,

If you’re not going to make new IP, please make new games for your existing IP.
If you’re not going to make new games for existing IP, please do remakes of existing games, rather than lazy ports.

As a StarFox lover, I can definitely say that I won’t buy this game. Too many broken promises, Nintendo. First, you couldn’t even make a proper sequel to the SNES classic. StarFox 64 is a tremendous pile of falcon dung, mostly due to its horribly annoying music and “free roaming” levels. Time won’t make it any better.

Make us a new game — one worthy of the original. That might just capture our attention and our imaginations.

Nintendo re-release the same game more than EA Sport’s division.

Nintendo sucks and has sucked since the NES and GB days, so fuck you Nitnendo and die from a tsunami or something.

And this right here is why I have no intention of buying a 3DS any time soon.

@9 Please shut up, you biased little troll. Nobody cares about your disrespectful racism and format bias.

I will be getting one once there’s a solid selection of games worth getting on the format, as I do with every new games machine. I never bother with early adoption when it comes to hardware.

  13. SOMI

@12 listen here you! there will either be 1 decent game for 3DS yearly or nothing at all, so there wont be a solid selection of games worth getting, more like gaseous, very little and far between.

#13 well again your point is not valid, right now they are two decent games on the 3DS ghost recon and ridge racer, then later this year will have kid icarus and the resident evil ones, so they made just more than one decent game in one year.

nintendo are the only people who listen to there fans, this game has been called by fans for the last decade are so and they are finally releasing it. so why do you guys comment if you guys haven’t got a 3ds why should this game affect yous in anyways?
@1 these are remakes not imports not like a shitty lazy god of war import or a shitty splinter cell import these are remakes

this isnt against you this is to everyone who says its a import or Nintendo make the same games all the time but i have to say nintendo has made abit to many OOT imports but the fact that the new OOT is a remake and has been made from scratch doesnt make it an import and im pretty sure SOMI is the guy who wanted the maker of mario to have cancer and die? :S

Do we need more proof that Nintendo is the laziest developer in the industry?

    #20 4 years ago
  21. Ireland Michael

@20 Nah, that would be Capcom.

@21: Hey at least they add SOMETHING. And they take risks with games like the new DmC for example.

    #22 4 years ago
  23. Phoenixblight

Because Twilight Princess and WInd waker, Mario Galaxy were not risks at all. And completely ignoring that they are rebooting Kid Icarus for the 3ds. THats not a risk at all. *Rolls eyes*
