Tony Hawk: New game in the works, maybe for 2012

Tony Hawk has said a new game in his long-running skate series is in the works.

“We’re going to do something probably for next year but I can’t give too much away,” the pro-skater told Pixelated Geek.

The franchise’s future was placed in doubt after the last game, Tony Hawk: Shred, generated paltry sales. Activision subsequently put the franchise on hold for 2011.

The Tony Hawk franchise arrived in 1999 in the midst of an extreme sports craze, and spawned 16 games before fizzling out with the arrival of the pricey Ride peripheral.

Thanks, Gamespot.

Oh God
Surely the series will be canned after this one flops too?

1) Ditch the crappy skateboard controller.
2) Ditch the open world crap.
3) Go back to the classic 2 minute challenge modes.
4) Make it fun.

Just give me Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 HD for $10 and I’m happy, also it must have all of the original soundtrack or no deal or $5.

THPS 1-3 HD Collection would be great, because some games just do not get old!

Tony. Please.

PLEASE. Just let it die. LET IT BE.

YOU LOST IT, your dead to the skateboard society, hell considered a grandpa, and your dead to everyone who used to play your fun as fuck games.

Either go to EA and make a SKATE/Tony Hawk game, since EA has actually been doing hell of a job with SSX, or just let the franchise die.

I swear if this new game has that damn controller and PROMISES “IT WILL BE GOOD!”. then I am kicking some ass.

Eff you Activision for allowing Tony to do this to the once relic franchise.

and EFF you for patting him on the back while turning around to count your money from the old Tony Hawks, Guitar Hero and current Call of Duty.

You bastards fooled me with Downhill Jam, you wont fool me again.

@Bloodyghost, i agreed with you for 100%, if you are “TONY HAWK” age 21 and love to break ya neck and make video games i understand, but if you’re a old pre-mature fucko aged 40 and still on a skate-board, something is wrong with ya head….(and still love to break ya neck) ietherway… stop with producing “tony hawk” games, it getting lame….

The way for this series to continue is as a downloadable game, with a focus on leaderboards and extra tracks turning up every now and then as DLC. They should take a good, long, hard look at Trials HD.
