Screens from canned Diablo III 2005 emerge

Screens have appeared of a canned version of Diablo III, in which the game would have taken place in heaven.

The screens show off three environments: Angelic Lands, Keep and Heaven.

The game in its 2005 form was in development at the now defunct Blizzard North, and was a very different animal to the game that's been seen since its WorldWide Invitational reveal in Paris nearly three years ago.

The whole lot are over at Kotaku.

Blizzard remains hopeful of getting it out this year, despite Activision saying explicitly that no Blizzard title will release in 2011 in its last investor call.
