Ed Boon has promised Kratos will look and feel as gamers expect when he guests in the latest Mortal Kombat game.

Speaking in the latest issue of Games Master (via CVG), Boon said the God of War hero was included in the game because his "look and fight style are very compatible to the Mortal Kombat universe".

"Everyone is really excited about this opportunity, and it's been great working with the God of War team in making this happen," said Boon.

"With any great IP, there are guidelines that must be followed. We're working really closely with the God of War team to ensure that Kratos looks and feels the way gamers expect him to. We have nothing but respect for the God of War development team, and our goal is to stay true to their creation".

As far as how he will handle the likes of Scorpion and Sub-Zero, Boon said Kratos will be "very much a power character," and his attacks dole out loads of damage.

"After all, he is the God of War," added the developer, who also said Kratos will be bringing some signature moves to the fighter.

Mortal Kombat is slated for release on PS3 and Xbox 360 this year.
