Kingdom Hearts Re:coded hitting Europe and North America in January

Sora’s journey in Kingdom Hearts II has drawn to a close, now a new tale is set to begin...

Damn it. We like Sora.

Square Enix announced today Europe will be able to get their claws on Kingdom Hearts Re:coded come January 14.

North America gets it on January 11.

Set after the conclusion of Kingdom Hearts II, Re:coded puts players in a new adventure as they revisit events and characters from the previous KH games in order to solve the mystery discovered by Jiminy Cricket.

The game has all new mechanics, a variety of different play systems, and a custom avatar system.

Here's a blurb from the press release:

Jiminy Cricket is looking over the journal he used to document his first adventure with Sora when he discovers a mysterious message. He didn’t write it – so how did it get there? King Mickey is determined to find out, so he and his friends decide to digitise the journal and delve into its deepest secrets.

Inside this “datascape” dwells a second Sora who is about to embark on a grand adventure of his very own.

A second Sora? What the hell, Jiminy Cricket!

Guess we'll find out all about that in January.
