Microsoft: Reach made $200 million on day-one

Wait, people actually bought Reach? Holy cow. Quick, someone, slow down the world! We can’t keep up with all the unpredictability!
During its TGS presser, Microsoft announced that Halo: Reach climbed all the way to $200 million in sales after only one day.
Apparently, that’s more than any game, movie, or piece of entertainment this year. Hear that, Black Ops? That’s called a challenge.
Get caught up on all that happened at the press conference through the link.

in terms of money, how much unit was sold? 2million copies?

IIRC, didn’t Halo 3 take $170 million with around 3 million in sales?

They only sold 4 copies, but MS raised the price to 50 million a piece.

how can it be 3.5 million:/
$50 x 4000 copies= £2m
basically US sold 4000 copies
broken down $50 normal price+editions makes up the price total with the copies sold.

@5 WHAT ??
I`m sorry to say that, but are you drunk ?
first, let assume it`s 60 dollar.
and it`s 200 million dollar, not 2 million
200,000,000 / 60 = 3,300,000 copys
also, in what world that 50×4000= 2 million $
again it`s 200,000 not 2,000,000 !

I’ve read it’s the most pre-ordered game in NA ever.

According to MCV Reach sold 330k in the UK in its first 24 hours. “This already puts Halo Reach at number ten in the all-time UK weekly sales league table”, they say.

I hated ODST but I bought Reach and LOVING it. To me ODST is like the Vista version of Halo. REACH ROCKS!

Found something out on this, the 200m is worldwide not just NA, i think Halo 3 did close to 200m in NA alone. Its on Kotaku is the story.

Do we believe them though? Either way Halo 3 had sold close to 6m in a month we will see if Reach can do the same. Im suprised we have no solid sales data yet either.

Well, we’ll know how the first months compare in the US fairly soon. More days on sale vs bigger userbase.
We’ll have a comparison on the first week in the UK as of Monday.
You’re expecting “solid sales data” a little too quickly. Most sales trackers wont have even updated until Sunday night (done weekly).
