Second Medal of Honor Experience vid shows chopper combat

Following the release of Medal of Honor multiplay footage in the Fallen Angel video last week, EA’s just dropped a second movie, titled Gunfighters, showing off single-play.

This is the second in a set of “Medal of Honor Experience” trailers. No idea why this popped up today.

The video shows circling helipcopters blasted a village full of RPGs and other nasties. It ends badly for the nasties.

Medal of Honor releases for PC, PS3 and 360 on October 10.

    @1 Yeah. It looks crisp.

Liked it, but my only one complain about it: Why they didn’t used Frostbyte Engine 2.0?

That level could be a masterpiece with the destruction, but without it it looks barely better than CoD Helicopter level (realism) but only because graphics and physics are better in Unreal Engine 3.

Looks like they could learn a bit from Battlefield BC’s environmental deformation. It’s annoying to see such powerful ammunition not even making a mark on soft stone huts. Oh well.

@3 Engine is different. MoH singleplayer uses old UE 3 and Battlefield:BC 2 uses frostbyte 2.0.

Purdy video. The 30mm is really missing some shrapnel, but the level itself is just completely ridiculous. Same thing goes for the Black Ops one. Why would you ever take your chopper down to a level where an old geezer with a shotgun could sink your gunship?

I like how the guy keeps shooting those rockets right under his wingman. Healthy tactics, for sure. Those military advisors were worth every penny.

I wish shooters would just stay shooters and not bother with a completely different style of gameplay.

@2 Personally I kinda like that half the level isn’t obscured by some kind of obnoxious dirt storm. I’d rather be able to see the place than have a few gimmicky features like that. Looks good to me.

It looks nice, but they’re crazy for not using the frostbyte tech. They’re going to suffer from some rather unfavourable comparisons.

…looks sweet…chopper levels: something you just couldn´t re-enact by playing airsoft;)…wtf is wrong with the destruction? they shred the buildings to pieces with the rockets…looks very good and ultracrisp – it´s an very old engine. i won´t ask for more

    @5 Bullshit, please.

There is no fog or else. Just explosions and these are not gimicky. Let someone from the industry try to make the engine with destruction.
Destruction is already next generation, but they did an awesome job already.
MoH level need that seriousily. Even CoD uses tree destruction. (Lol, 2D trees destruction)

This was shown at E3 (not at a conference though)

@8 You mean you really don’t see all that fog? The entire game is like covered in a hazy grey mist. I like the high definition on the above video a lot better.

Destruction is next generation, really? Last time I checked, Volition have been working with it the last 10 years. You can do whatever you want with a game, all it takes is time, talent and ingenuity.

Collapsing buildings is all well and good, but it’s hardly a core gameplay element. It’s just a little something to make you wet yourself. I’d rather have the game look good, personally. It’s focused around killing taliban, not wrecking buildings.

Keep in mind that some Afghan compounds have been known to withstand several barrages of 155mm artillery and 1000 pound JDAMS.

@DSB you mean fog after helicopter strikes? That fog? That fog actually what happens after someone strikes a bomb or something in the ground.
In the game it’s enviromental effect such as fog blankets and e.t.c.

AH-64 Apache in Action in Afghanistan video.

Volition never did a Multiplayer game with Destruction with engine capable of Direct X 11 and Direct X 10 effects. My GTX 285 1 GB barely works with all effects at max and it is crisp as hell, not to mention that BF uses Dolby Digital Surround.

I’m all for environmental effects such as dust and fog blankets – as long as they affect the AI to an equal degree.

Fuck the fog, the shadows look pretty sweet.

just like the black ops chopper gameplay, looks about as bland as a jar of stale piss =|

@11 It doesn’t make a lot of sense that jungles, deserts and arctic environments fall victim to the very same fog, however. If you look far enough or deep enough in any of those environments, you’ll see a very clear white filter. That’s the haze I’m talking about. It’s just ugly and it makes no sense.

I couldn’t care less what engine people use or what DX it ties into, I prefer to look at the actual games, not 1′s and 0′s.

Calling the original Frostbite crisp is about as deranged as you can get, though.

Hazy, muddy, shaky, shiny. Pick your flawed visual aspect. It’s the modern day version of Novalogics Delta Force.

  16. Erthazus

@15 that fog have a color pallete for each own section.

“Calling the original Frostbite crisp is about as deranged as you can get, though.”

Sorry, but game must look like what you said. It’s the style of it. Like Killzone 2 for example. It’s foggy too and what? And muddy and e.t.c. It’s their pallete. everything else like HBAO, SSAO looks beautiful. HBAO and SSAO makes all these effects like you are fighting in the middle of a junk yard. Like fog blankets, dust, haze, mud. Thats lightning and e.t.c.
you think that when house explodes there is no fog blanket from the materials it got?

    Thats a war son.

Modern Warfare don’t have even this to begin with. Because it’s engine is not capable of few interesting effects. By the way it’s shiny too because of Id Tech 3 shiny effect (see Quake 3). But thats how developers see the game. Don’t have problems with the palletes in both games.
the difference is between effects, textures, Direct X effects that looks realistic as hell.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvnKasEFzr4&feature=related Does MW game have material physics? No, it doesn’t. Does MW have “soften dynamic shadows”? MW looks here ugly as hell compared to Battlefield that uses Direct X 11 soft shadows. And list goes on and on and on.

oh and i forgot. you showed an awesome trailer. Did you just listened to the Dolby sound Surround? thats just A+ or read the comments there.

@16 Houses generally don’t just explode in wars, moron. It’s a lot harder to take them down than you might think from playing videogames. You need charges, artillery or air ordnance, none of which is portrayed realistically in BC2. It’s just silly Hollywood action, just like any other game.

If you want to be a blind fanboy, be a blind fanboy. I really couldn’t care less. That video is still ugly as fuck. I think that’s the least of BC2′s problems, and it didn’t make me like the game less, but saying that it’s somehow an example of visual excellence is just idiotic. It’s grainy, hazy, shaky and shiny. Who cares how much hardware it uses when it’s still ugly?

Hahaha. I haven’t said a word about Modern Warfare – Obsessed much? :D

I’m kinda glad they focused on tuning the gameplay rather than simply making the game look good, though. Some of us like to play games, not just look at ‘em and list their specs, y’know?

“Houses generally don’t just explode in wars, moron.”

and in the war there is no artillery, charges and e.t.c. right?
Battlefield series always had that right? Moron.
Or go see youtube videos how building crush after tank charge or bazooka. You will find a lot of interesting stuff.

“Hahaha. I haven’t said a word about Modern Warfare – Obsessed much?”

Because everything always goes to that topic no matter where you mention Battlefield.

“If you want to be a blind fanboy, be a blind fanboy.”

Where is fanboyism? Fanboyism about what, that the graphics look better and thats a fact?
Just go to youtube videos and search for Battlefield:BC 2 graphics. You will see a lot of videos where people trying to compare visuals with each own graphics card. If you go to the youtube videos people say a lot about how it look and thats important.

People like it, you don’t. Your own opinion.

“That video is still ugly as fuck”

Thats your OWN Fanboyish opinion. I and other people think otherwise. you don’t and thats fine.
Besides, graphics on full is extremely close to the Crysis level and that says a lot and if you don’t see that, buy yourself a nice PC and than we can talk moron.

This is the last post: If you are a fucking idiot and can’t see the graphics than you are a complete retard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lzUftVSVVw

Not to mention that there are HUGE maps. So much rendering going on here.

@18 Yawn, dude. I still see contrast like we’re on the face of fucking Venus. BC2 isn’t the ugliest game ever made, but it has no art direction. It’s all just all the same bland, ugly fuzzy-lighted crap no matter where it takes you.

I’ve studied lots of munitions and obviously seen buildings struck by anti-armor rounds, but as you’d know if you knew the least bit about those weapons, most of those rounds aren’t made to destroy buildings, just to kill everyone inside of them (as they are designed to do with armored vehicles). That’s why most tank and anti-armor hits tend to leave circular holes in buildings, rather than take out a wall.

Something you’d certainly never do with the sort of charge you get in a 40mm like in BC2, but it’s completely useless discussing with you, because you have no grasp of reality. All I’m saying is that I prefer the higher definition of Medal of Honor to a game that looks bad, but has gimmicky destruction. It’s just not that important to me.

Clearly you have some kind of complex with MW2, I’m sorry about that. I certainly wasn’t gonna mention it, but clearly BC2′s “amazing graphics” and “dynamic destruction” didn’t allow them to compete with it.
