Halo: Reach Campaign will feature matchmaking

haloreach5

Bungie’s confirmed it’s implemented Xbox Live matchmaking in Halo: Reach’s Campaign.

Previously with Halo 3 and ODST, you could only invite your friends to play online.

With Reach, though, you can play with anyone over Live in the Campaign, according to the latest Bungie update.

Easy win.

We played the shooter’s Firefight mode at Microsoft’s Play Day event in Cologne last week. Get Keza Macdonald’s impressions here.

Reach launches on September 14.

Cool.

Of course when you try and play co-op with randoms you often suffer from cunts with “cunt syndrome” who’d rather shoot you in the face and throw grenades at walls than actually cooperatively play the game.

I prefer playing SP Halo on co-op as you can set up some great flanking, cover fire and ambush situations. I can see myself using this feature a lot – much moreso than competitive multiplayer.

This, and matchmaking in firefight mode, are very welcome additions.

I’ve only had good matchmaking co-op in the past, especially on Borderlands. What games did you get griefed in?

@3, mainly L4D, particularly in survival during the start bit where you get time to start, you get wangs who just blow up all the cans, start the horde then quit out.

Also had a peen who came into my 4 swordsmen L4D2 mutation and just attacked other players and bots.
