Guerrilla hard at work on new IP

Guerrilla Games managing director Herman Hulst has has confirmed that the studio is working on a new IP.
The developer said the project is still in the concept stage, speaking in an interview with Dutch magazine Control.
Guerrilla is hard at work on Killzone 3, which will be released in February next year. Once that’s out the way, it seems the studio will ramp up development of the new title.
There are no further details at the moment, not even any hints as to what style of game it could be.
Thanks, Gekidami and Exophase.

Good, I’d love to see their impressive tech team turned loose on a new project. KZ3 should be great though, but I’d love to see some shots from other levels.

@ 7
Maybe they are better with other genres than they are with fps.
I’d like to see a survival horror from them, they’re used to dark atmospheres and their lighting engine would fit perfectly a survival horror game.

Wow, you just proved your age right there. KZ2 and hands-on previews of KZ3 especially prove how groundbreaking GG’s gameplay mechanisms have been. But hey, why argue with an idiot.

@9, it’s obvious that he’s 16, maybe 15, i doubt that 94 is random

@7 is right.
Guerilla are a tech company and dont have much of a grasp of what makes a game play well, definitely not an FPS.
Maybe they will have some success in another genre.

Opinions cant be wrong (apparently) but they sure as hell can be stupid.

Jesus Gadzooks, that’s borderline trolling right there. You do know that KZ2 stands at 91 in the metacritic rank, yeah? Regardless, KZ2 was a strong FPS experience, and I strongly recommend checking out Liberation if you don’t think they understand cool gameplay.

Killzone has some of the best FPS gameplay this gen. Great cover system, really immersive graphics and sound, some of the best FPS AI in ages (Crysis would probably be better from what I’ve heard, but it’s definitely better than Resistance/Halo/COD), great level design with amazing set pieces.
Killzone 2 has one of the best single players out of FPSs this gen.

Funny, the kz2 i played had bad dialog, bad plot, unlikeable characters, shonky framerate, bland level design with very obvious event points, respawning enemies and the worst controls to ever stink up a shooter.
I have never played a game that suffered from so many cliches, bad gameplay choices and uninspired design, artwork and script.
In my opinion kz2 is not only the worst fps i have played, but one of the worst games.
Nice renderer though, even if texture quality is a tad low.

@17, the worst FPS i played this gen is Haze, & i’m sure there is worst, just none i can think of right now, Killzone 2 was a great game, but i’m not a huge fps fan so i didn’t play too much, the controls were able to be changed right?

I’ve read this news a couple of times now. And I still think there must be something lost in translation.
It’s some buttfuck nowhere ‘magazine’ and it’s a different language. Let alone the difficulty humans have when communicating in the same language.

Hai guyz, why bother arguing with a guy that thinks his obscure self somehow trumps the 91% of MC reviewers ie the vast majority of the video gaming press?
