“Franchise-changing” Sonic news coming on Thursday, Sonic Colors gets funny hat
Sega’s European community manager, ArchAngelUK, has said that some “franchise-changing” news on Sonic will be coming on Thursday.
It was also mentioned during his “radio show”, according to GAF, that there would be an announcement on Sonic Colors later today.
That has since turned out to be a pre-order item for the game in the US, where if you pre-order the Wii version at GameStop, you get an absolutely ridiculous hat in the shape of Sonic [via CVG].
We didn’t know what to say when we seen it, either.
Currently, Sonic Colors is in development for Wii and DS, while Sonic Free Riders will be coming to 360 via Kinect and Sonic 4 will be releasing on PSN, Xbox Live Arcade and WiiWare later this year.
Lets see what happens, then.

Franchise-changing? They’re going to do a good Sonic game, then?
Either that or he’ll be red or something. Or he’s retiring and will be replaced with Sonic Jr. Or…. nope. I can’t think of anything they could actually do that would make me interested in Sonic again.
Did they officially announce Sonic Adventure for the XBLA/PSN yet? It might just be that.

I want bluray Sonic 4 long as Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles together. Screw 3D and adventure features!!!! Make an ordinary platform game!!!!! And please, with great music!!!
