Dozens of Enslaved shots hit from Spain

enslaved4

The embargo just went up on some lovely Enslaved screens from Namco’s Spanish press event earlier this month. Go monkey after the break.

The action adventure, based on the classic Chinese Middle Ages tale Journey to the West, is set 150 years in the future.

It’s a futuristic interpretation of the Monkey story, in which the protagonist is tied to a master via an enchanted crown. Monkey must guard a young woman on her journey to be set free.

Looks very pretty. Ninja Theory’s behind this. Check out our interview with studio boss Tameem Antoniades at the Barcelona shindig. It’s out this autumn.

Pretty bloody impressive. Shame about the interpenetration when she is on his back though, my eyes can’t help but concentrate on stuff like that. Still, exciting stuff!

Probably unintentional: the Chinese character 经 on her back means “scripture” which fits the Odyssey to the West theme, but an equally common meaning of it is “menstruation” :) (the root of word is “routine”).

Ja. Serious business. It’s got a lovely feel to the art.

I think it’s the ‘art’ that’s putting me off. It’s obviously very well done, but it’s just leaving me cold. Can’t muster any enthusiasm for this at all, it’s making me think of Grin’s Bionic Commando rehash for some reason.

@Blerk: maybe it’s the unnatural green?
