Fable III boxart mentions Windows version [Update]

fable iii windows

Update: Microsoft’s just told us to “stay tuned”. Make of that as you will.

Original: Microsoft’s released the cover-art for Fable III – and then pulled it. It just so happens to mention it’s coming to Windows.

The art, released on Games Press, shows the “Only on Xbox 360 & Windows” label that appeared recently for THQ’s Metro 2033.

It’s not the first time a PC version has been mentioned, mind: Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux dropped a tiny bird-like shit hint at GDC in March about a PC version at the same time a job listing that “involves converting and maintaining the network code of the Xbox 360 version of this game to the PC, and enabling the Xbox 360 version and the PC version to play together.”

2 + 2 = 5. Go figure, innit.

Fable III is due for release this winter on Xbox 360 – for now.

Lol. I think it’s a mistake for Microsoft making Fable 3 for Windows. Xbox 360 really need exclusive titles as much as they can.

Or they trying to support PC?

@2 I never said that xbox sux lol LMAO. ZOMG!

It’s just releasing Fable 3 on PC and not releasing Fable 2 on PC making not much sense at all.
And as any competitor, Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft need exclusives to satisfy consumer these days no matter what.

@3 Probably not. I think there will be just a Web page for PC like Little Big Planet will use it’s own web page for levels.

I’m glad they’re making it for the PC as well even though I think #1 SUCKED. but I’ve always been curious as to why are companies not announcing all versions of a game at the same time? what do they gain if they hide one of them?

“What do they gain if they hide one of them?”

A possible raise in 360 sales.

Absolutely loved the original Fable (The Lost Chapters version), was disappointed by Fable 2, am hugely looking forward to Fable 3.
