Marvel vs Capcom 3 gets killer first screens in GI

mvc32

Game Informer’s published the first shots of Marvel vs Capcom 3 in its newest issue – you know, the one with Gears of War 3 and LittleBigPlanet 2.

Good news too for Devil May Cry fans: Dante’s on the roster.

The young version of the character from DMC3 will take his place as a fighter on the list, as will Marvel’s Deadpool, who’s also confirmed to be a fighter in the fighter.

You can grab the scans for it over at AGB.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 releases Q1 next year for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Thanks, onlineatron.

I was watching a TV show yesterday and they were talking about their trip to Captivate and this game. At one point they asked (some guy working on the game i cant remember who) about Chris Redfield being in the trailer. Then they asked if Sheva will be in the game to, and the Capcom guy said that Sheva will not be in it.

So atleast wo know one character that WONT appear in the game. Infact just before that the Capcom guy said that when they asked the Resident Evil team for a character they could use he made out as if there would only be one from that franchise.

I’m about to ruin your day MvsC3 fans

They’ve revealed that this game will have around 30 characters, which i think is no way near the final number considering MvsC2 had 56

Now think about how much capcom likes to rape us with the DLC….yeah, you know where this is going.

I bet there will be 10 characters that they will they will charge us 320 points a pop

And for the DLC characters to be used in a fight against someone online the characters are going to have to be on the disc.

If thats the case (which i firmly believe it will be) i just hope they sell the disc it a lower price point

Seeing as the characters are full 3D i really doubt we’ll be seeing over 50, but 30? Atleast 40 Capcom, you’ve already said that the number of characters ‘will blow us away’ and with only 30 i cant see that happening.

mington, while 30 isn’t nearly enough, if the characters are unique enough it won’t matter. Look at BlazBlue, less than 20 characters but each more awesome than 20 seperate characters!

Super street fighter 4 has 35, just got my cheevo for 300 fights online and still the characters select screen seems MASSIVE, i still haven’t touched about a third of the fighters. i’ll never touch Gouken or Gen (i’m ageist)

So, i believe 40 characters done well will be more then enough, as for diversity, i don’t think we’ll see anything on par with guilty gear and blazblue, which i’m actually quite pleased about, as although Blazblue’s 12 characters are vastly different, half of them i will never play as, as they just don’t appeal to me at all, although still fun to fight against.

I think all the returning characters will play very similarly to how they did in previous irritations all with a standard L, M, H combo, only the air combos is where they will differ. I think the diversity will come from which teams you choose as its 3 vs 3 again

@mington

That’s not at all what they said , they that said that right now they’ve got 30 characters . It could , and will go go up , depending on their whims .

Now in unrelated interviews , especially ,ssf4 ones , seth killian and a few capcom staff explained that according to them , too many characters = some never being used , too many clones , and imbalances issues .

So yeah we might see indeed a reduction or stagnation in numbers, rather than the traditional 2x more in each xmen/marvel fighters .

Personally i could do without some of the “nameless” and obscure characters from MVC2 (mostly on capcom’s side). A few joke characters is fine , but MCV2 had enoughto populate a whole traditional fighter’s roster

As for the dlc issues … i dont get some of you guys .
I immensely dislike dlcs , especially disc unlock ones , but i always find people to be extra harsh with capcom on the matter .

It doesnt matter what atrocity they did with re5′s dlcs , in the end , when it comes to fighting games , they only released costumes .

Meanwhile , looking at the excellent blazblue you’ll see that they dont even sell you packs of costumes , but colors …. COLORS !!!
And you’ve got namco with it’s nefarious yoda/vader scheme .

In the end capcom , rehauled two of their massive old fighting games for xbl/psn (and with a perfect online) , release 2 massiv beat them up lately in the ame fashion , gave us free dlc updates for sf4 and ssf4 , took the burden of listening to its fans and brought the licencing nightmare that is Tatsunoko vs Capcom in the West , with the extra of even rewriting the game and adding tons of characters free of charge .

Every other publishers releasing fighting games dont do as much for the genre as them , and are more greedy with dlcs .
And yet , they are in constant “capcom will charge you ten characters” jokes. Go figures

• Deadpool’s teleportation device will comically malfunction if you spam his teleport move. Also, he breaks the fourth wall by beating his opponents with his health bar.

• Chris Redfield uses his weapons from Resident Evil 5, his shotgun and the “shock stick.”
