Bethesda: Doom 4, Rage will show id’s “true potential”

Bethesda’s Pete Hines has said that id’s “true potential” will be shown soon, thanks in part to Doom 4 and Rage.

Speaking with MCV, he said having the studio under the Bethesda family is a “tremendous advantage”.

“id Software brings a wealth of experience and expertise in the first person shooter genre,” said Hines.

“To have a group like id working as an internal studio for Bethesda is a tremendous advantage.

“I think what they’re working on with RAGE and Doom 4 is going to show the world their true potential,” he went on to add.

Doom 4, meanwhile, is expected to be revealed at Quakecon in August.

I’m waiting for Doom 4. John Said that true potential will be on the PC.

I hope this time Doom 4 will be not just graphics…

since games like dead space, i think the enemies in doom need a little re-think.

As stupid as a skeleton with rocket launcher shoulder pads was in doom 3 it still worked, but i don’t think it’ll work today

they should do deadspace style body horror spliced with demons n shit

Skeleton with the rocket launcher is the original Monster from Doom 2 and it will never go away. It’s called the Revenant.

Doom 3 was a remake of Doom 1,2. Doom 4 will be something different.

i really got into it towards the end with th cube and the ruins and shit, really liked the Mars setting as well

Kinda hope Doom 4 is on Mars as well, kinda hope that just make doom 3 again but better with a story and with Arnold Schwarzenegger telling you to “get your ass to mars”. Just make a total recall game but with added demons, it would be cool if the demons didn’t even come into the game until half way through, like a reverse half life.
