Ubi CV says next Assassin’s Creed is due this year, SCC PS3 also seen

assassinscreed26

According to a Ubi staffer’s CV, the next Assassin’s Creed is set for a release this year. As in 2010.

Michael Donnell, a 3D animator at Ubisoft Montreal who is also working on Splinter Cell: Conviction for PS3 according to said CV, has the release date down on his LinkedIn profile.

AC 2010

Previously, the new title was only given a release within Ubisoft’s fiscal 2011 calendar, although nothing else was confirmed on its release.

All that is known on the game so far – other than the date – is that it’ll star Ezio from Assassin’s Creed II, will be a continuation from said title and will have multiplayer.

As for Splinter Cell: Conviction PS3, that is not the first time that has appeared on someone’s CV. Only last week, it appeared on another LinkedIn CV, which showed the platform together with the game.

In the meantime, Conviction is set to release next week for 360, with a PC release on April 29.

Thanks to MotiD on Twitter for the tip.

@3 Probably:

1) PSP title

or……

2) They can use old engine build for the new Assassins Creed game. So you can do it really quick if you want to.

SC:C on PS3? Nice. Still got to try the demo, though. Friend says its good, but he has poor taste. Is he correct?

I can’t see the SP mode of this new AssCreed game being anything other than a rushed cash-in that re-uses most of the assets from last year’s game. Hopefully it will be MP only and I can just ignore it.

I’m weirdly fine with SC being timed/exclusive, paid or not. I’ve always considered it a Xbox franchise. Probably because of the green nightvision. ^.^b

Isn’t it more likely to be the multiplayer AC title?

And not the true next title in the trilogy?!

Oh Johnny, this is OLD news.

As in January-old news.

http://kotaku.com/5447312/the-next-assassins-creed-features-online-multiplayer-%5Bupdate%5D

“While the next Assassin’s Creed has been described as the series’ first installment with multiplayer, Desilets and May said that the game, featuring ACII hero Ezio’s return to Rome, will have a full single-player campaign. Desilets also said — “You know us” — that the game’s multiplayer will have a “narrative justification.”

The game is being developed at Ubisoft Montreal. May added, with joking helpfulness: “It won’t be boring.”

The game is expected to come out by the end of March 2011.”

No Shaun, they didn’t say if it would be out in the first three months of 2011 or if it would be out at all in 2010.

All Ubisoft have commonly refered to since it was announced back in January is fiscal 2011.

Try reading the links, eh?

Hi,

but, seeing as the CV lists Splinter Cell as “2009-2010″, Donnell might just mean the timeframe in which he worked on the project, not the actual release year, innit?
