3D Realms: Duke Nukem Forever could have gone gold yesterday

dukenukemforever3

Just imagine: Halo Bollywood, Halo chess and more could have been completely nuked by Duke Nukem Forever yesterday. If only.

Former Take Two producer Jason Bergman has said that had the game still been in development, the game would have gone Gold master and shipped yesterday. Yes, April 1: something he admits was “intentional”.

“MOMENT OF SILENCE PLEASE: by the 3DR/TTWO development schedule, April 1st, 2010 was supposed to be the day Duke Nukem Forever went gold,” Bergman tweeted.

“Totally intentional. It was going to be hilarious,” he further added.

He also thinks that had things gone right with it, it “would have made that date.”

Best April Fool’s ever, right? Right?

The game was canned last year after ten years in development, after developer 3D Realms shut up shop.

Thanks, 1UP.

This news makes me sad. :(

I would have loved to have seen what they’d come up with.

Ok, want to hear something really funny?
Yesterday I made a show for the site I work at, set in a parallel world where Duke Nukem Forever was released instead of Manhattan Project.
How strage a coincidence was that?

If they’d just cracked on and made the twat the joke would’ve been funnier. It’s all very hilarious announcing ironic release dates…Not so funny when people have lost jobs because of a lot of indecision and fucking about. LOL as fuck!

3: Seems you misunderstood. It was according to their development schedule that the game was supposed to go gold yesterday. It wasn’t some crap joke they came up with after the cancellation.

The headline is wrong, BTW. It’s not 3D Realms who are saying this, but a former Take Two producer (as the article states).

Being completely serious, isn’t DNF still being developed or is it in limbo? It wasn’t completely canned Take Two just doesn’t want to publish it because it’s been so long

I think we all need to act like Duke Nukem never existed. It’s the best for all of us.

For every person who has worked on Duke Nukem Forever: Shut the fuck up. You fucked up, you greedy assholes.

That implies the game was mere months away from shipping. That would have meant the PR campaign would have been well underway. We would have seen screenshots and trailers and previews.
You can’t release a game without pre-release marketing, especially not DNF wich everybody thought was vaporware.

In other words, this is just more BS.

3D Realms and Take2 should STFU in my opinion.

This shows how far these gaming sites are disconnected from their fans. Gaming sites are the only ones that want to talk about nuke.

Seriously no one gives a shit. The joke is beyond old.
You only come across as some moron is still making fun of some fat kid that farted in public 15 years ago.
