3D Realms: Duke Nukem Forever could have gone gold yesterday

Just imagine: Halo Bollywood, Halo chess and more could have been completely nuked by Duke Nukem Forever yesterday. If only.

Former Take Two producer Jason Bergman has said that had the game still been in development, the game would have gone Gold master and shipped yesterday. Yes, April 1: something he admits was "intentional".

"MOMENT OF SILENCE PLEASE: by the 3DR/TTWO development schedule, April 1st, 2010 was supposed to be the day Duke Nukem Forever went gold," Bergman tweeted.

"Totally intentional. It was going to be hilarious," he further added.

He also thinks that had things gone right with it, it "would have made that date."

Best April Fool's ever, right? Right?

The game was canned last year after ten years in development, after developer 3D Realms shut up shop.
