Vanquish 2

Sega’s released the first batch of in-game shots of Vanquish, the new third-person shooter from Bayonetta developer Platinum Games and Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami.

A fact sheet was also released for the game, filing in a little more information on its story then just a US vs Russia war.

After fighting for the last few remaining energy resources between each other, the US has built a space station to get energy from the sun.

Russia, however, captures said space station, hijacks it and destroys San Francisco with a solar blast, trying to force the US into “a total and unconditional surrender”.

Now the US is pissed, and arms its special forces to take back the station before New York is next attacked.

The character you play in the game is known as Sam, who’s the guy kitted out in the futuristic suit from the debut trailer.

Sega’s also released the first batch of in-game screenshots as well. Get them over at AGB.

Mikami confirmed yesterday the game would release this winter in Japan for PS3 and 360.

Looks pretty cool. Still haven’t gotten to play Bayonetta, but I can’t wait. Platinum Games is getting pretty legit.

Oh my god, i can’t believe this shit. I thought it was just about Aliens. Now russians are the bad people again … Why aren’t videogames more like the reality with Americans being the bad guys.

who cares , it’s obvious ,knowing mikami and most of his games , that the story is a pretext for fun and silly action .

Nothing in the pics even looks american or russian , so far , it’s an excuse to pit guy in exoskeletton suit against mechas or other guys in suits .

Besides with some people already whining about it ripping off halo (as if Halo invented that kind of suit in fictional works) , adding aliens would fuel that crap even better .

You took the words right out of my mouth.Seriously im tired of playing as an american going against russia. If anything the americans should be the bad guys maybe now that mw2 made the move on having the us be the bad guys more games will follow its lead.
