Nintendo pegs Metroid: The Other M for for “summer 2010″ release in Japan

What are your plans for the summer? Road trip? A little R&R at the beach? Some time with the family?
Well, your plans pale in comparison to Samus’. She’s going to hunt aliens. In Japan.
Nintendo updated its Japanese 2010 release list today, penciling in Metroid: The Other M for “summer 2010.” Two new games – called Xenoblade and The Last Story – were also added to the list.
Apparently, precisely two games – Monado: Beginning of the World and Cosmic Walker – were removed from the list, so it’s something of a safe bet to guess that those were tentative titles for Xenoblade and The Last Story. But then, Monado hasn’t ducked out of US or European schedules yet, so who knows what’s actually going on.
Oh, right: Nintendo! We’ll mail them and ask about Monado and Cosmic Walker’s mysterious disappearances.
Thanks, andriasang.

I wonder if Xenoblade is a localisation of Zangeki no REGINLEIV, Sandlot’s EDF-goes-Norse MotionPlus hack-em-up.
The Last Story sounds for all the world like a CiNG game – perhaps an English name for Last Window, the Hotel Dusk sequel?
Or it could be that Nintendo murder mystery on WuHu Island that Miyamoto was talking about making.

Hey, is that a new announcement? I don’t remember hearing about that before. Mistwalker doing a Wii game? Unexpected!

It’s been announced today. You just need to know where to look.
Nintendo’s also announced Xenoblade (formerly Monado: Beginning of the World) for release this year, from Monolithsoft, as well as opening official sites for both RPGs and Metroid: Other M.

Hi-defs am cry!
I wonder if they’ll have more success with a Wii RPG than they did with their 360 ones? I fully expected them to jump ship to PS3.

So wait… Mistwalker’s new game us a Wii game? Does this mean no MS funded 360 title?
Or are MS too busy plotting with capcom on how to take over Japan now?

Add this to their newly announced 10mill in slaes for Wii Sports Resort, NSMBwii, and (Doh) forgot the third game name, but ya get the idea.
I guess Nintendo doesn’t think software is gonna be much of a problem. The RPG market is one that Nintendo should could own, lest the JRPG market I mean. I suprises me they haven’t been more agressive pursuing more games.
