BioWare boss Greg Zeschuk has likened Mass Effect 2 to Empire Strikes Back in terms of its place in the ME trilogy. Things are about to get nasty, yo.
“Yeah we have definitely designed it in that fashion,” he told IGN AU.
“If you recall, Empire Strikes Back was the darker chapter and that is how we designed the ME2 story and experience: to try and make the player reflect on the challenges of the character. If you put ME2 next to the original it is definitely a darker, harder game.”

The original game wasn’t exactly short, especially if you did of the additional content.
Looking forward to this. The first game is still one of the most memorable I’ve ever played.

20 hours for a supposed rpg, for me is short, and the stuff with the buggy…boring.

I found the first one pretty short to, i never tried the DLC but i did do all the side quests with their cookie cutter planets and cookie cutter interiors…

The reason why its short is because of the PC being able to speak they have to do VO for all the choices, for male, and female. It takes a lot of resources but it took me a good 40 hours to get everything in the game done.
@3 It won’t be shorter Devs stated on the forums they condensed the amount of planets we can actually explore with the buggy so with that more resources were saved from the first one to go with more things.
I really can’t wait for this game.

I sure like the darker, grittier look a lot.
But I still somehow have the feeling that because of the high production value for this game it will also be available for the PS3. This is EA after all and suspiciously there hasn’t been a denial for a PS3 version so far.
I own both consoles (360/PS3) so I will get it anyway. But if it comes out for PS3 I probably will buy this version despite the fact that I can’t use my old save files from ME1 on my 360.

how would they tie in Mass Effect 1. Not saying its not possible but to open the world to just Ps3 owners they need to play first. Only option I can see with that is doing a spin off of the first because ME is published by MS which gives them the rights to it.
Not even sure if I want to get a Bioware game on Ps3 because they don’t have experience on the Ps3. Dragon Age will be the first Sony game from Bioware.
