Enterbrain – FFXIII will sell over 500,000 PS3s in Japan in December

Enterbrain boss Hamamura Hirokazu has told the Japanese press that he expects December’s release of FFXIII to result in the sale of 500,000 PS3 consoles in Japan.

That’s serious shit, Ringo.

Hirokazu added that the recently announced PS3 price cut will also be a driving factor for sales figures that month.

If achieved, the figure would represent a 250 percent increase from December 2008.

FFXIII release for PS3 on December 17 in Japan, followed by PS3 and 360 releases in the west early next year.

Isn’t that a low number comparing to Dragon Quest? I would say atleast 1 million. And I will be one of them ^_^

half a million PS3s for one game.

For anything other then final fantasy IN japan, i couldn’t see it.

I could see this happening if not more. especially with the new slim console. Good luck to square enix and sony on this one and lets see it next year for us english speakers.

mine is the xbox 360 version on 8 discs please :D

Slayer – Japanese PS3 exclusive.

As far as hardware sales go, that might just be a tad bit high.

I’m thinking about 300 – 400k tbh. Then again, this is the most anticipated thing in Japan since Jesus rose from the dead.

I think he’s probably right. Sales would be up in December anyway – top it off with a Final Fantasy and they could make some serious headway.
