TimeGate Studios has told readers on the Section 8 official forums that there will not be a demo released for the PC version of the game.

“We do not have plans to release a Section 8 demo for the PC at this time,” reads the thread. “Currently, we only have a demo for the Xbox 360 version.”

Sorry PC players, you will just have to take your chances with the retail version, which was released yesterday.

Unless, of course, you also own an Xbox 360. Still, that doesn’t give you an idea of how it plays on PC.

Thanks, Blue.

The beta was pretty dire if anyone actually cares about the game.

oh you have not been wrong. most of us ARE scum, most of us are f**king idiots who don’t respect the work that some developers put into making good games. BUT, i’m not one of those idiots. :) i bought over 90% of the games that i played during the last few years and the games that i haven’t bought, well, that was because i couldn’t find them anywhere online, and as for retail, it is almost inexistent in romania. luckily for me, since they launched gog.com i have been to change that, and this last week, i’ve been on a frenzy shopping session, especially with the launch of “buy 1, get 1 for free” promotion. cheers.

well when your console games cost 125 dollars each (and it’s even cheaper , with snes and genesis games usually in the past at 150 dollars) , and pc ones 88 dollars , you might indeed be tempted to become scums .

Unlesss you go my way and fight constantly to find way to imports without paying to much taxes or extra costs .

Anyway point is , there is no real reason they couldnt make available that demo for pc . It’s one thing when there is no time or ressources to do any demo at all , but a completely different one when you got a 360 one .

in the end it’s their loss , the game looks like a pale copie of halo , especially with ODST in sight , so pc folks wont have any hard qualms to downloading the iso just to even try , with the absence of said demo .

their loss indeed. i mean, they don’t put demos out there, they launch the games way later then they do on the consoles and then they ask themselvs why don’t they sell enough copies on pc. a bunch of f**king newbies if you ask me..
