Guardian – No Zune HD for UK

zunehd2

The Guardian is claiming that Zune HD won’t launch in the UK, and will rather be a US-only affair.

Instead, European punters will be given only access to Zune Video via Xbox 360.

The press release does only say that the handheld will be “available in the US this fall”.

Existing subscribers to Xbox Live are expected to be offered unlimited access to Microsoft’s video catalogue for a single extra payment each month, says the report.

We’re checking with Microsoft now.

That gaurdian article says “The Zune HD, which will go on sale in the US next month” isn’t the zune HD supposed to be launching on 5th september?

EDIT: 5th september according to http://community.winsupersite.com/blogs/paul/archive/2009/05/26/microsoft-zune-hd-is-real.aspx and eitherway next month isnt fall :)

Cool.

I’d rather pay a one off fee for unlimited films that keep having to stock up on MS points all the time.

Well they’d have to be pretty stupid to release a HD Radio in Europe.

It’s a nice looking player with OLED screen and HDMI output, I still don’t get why they wont release outside North America.
